Ithel David JEREMY

Dear Mr.
I recently discovered the Honfleur 1939-1945 website and it has occurred
to me that you might be able to help me. I'm researching the history of
Polish bomber squadrons in WW2 and I wonder if you have any additional
information concerning the loss of 305 Sqdn Wellington W5526 SM-J which
was shot down during a raid on Le Havre on the night of 15/16 September
1941. Actually this was an all-British crew captained by W/Cdr J.K.M.
Drysdale, the RAF adviser to No.305 Sqdn. All I know at the moment is
that Wellington W5526 crashed in the target area, presumably into the
mouth of the Seine as five of the crew are buried in the St.Marie
Cemetery at Le Havre and the rear gunner, F/L Ithel David Jeremy, in the
Honfleur (St Léonard) Communal Cemetery. Do you happen to know anything
more about the circumstances of the loss of the above-mentioned bomber?
If F/L Jeremy's body was washed ashore, do you know when or where?
I'll be most grateful for any help you can provide. I hope my request does
not inconvenience you in any way. If it does, I hope you will say so.
Thanks in advance.
